With the chemicals available today, torture of a physical nature (ex. waterboarding) is too slow, and if the person's mind gives out, you have nothing dependable even if they do spill their guts. Chemical use is not tortuous except for the needle stick, and the chems can be administered in many other ways. Chemical use is also immediate and very, very accurate. There is no need for physical torture in the 21st century.

I had one of my characters in a role play tie up another guy's character and force him to listen to Ashlee Simpson sing. If I remember correctly, that got him to talk...

    I know, I've got a warped mind. :p

    Close voting.
The absolutists need 1 more for a plurality, but some torture seems acceptable to a majority

The results are about the same as most Canadian elections. Damn, another minority government.

    I don't know why I participated, but I chose bad-but-useful.
That, however, does not mean I condone it or find it acceptable.
I can recognize it's utility but still not condone it.
Theft and murder are also useful in some circumstances, but acknowledging utility is not the same as condoning the action.

I chose some torture, only because I want to hold out the option for my personal use. I don't want the government messing with it. For one, the specialists they have to contract out cost too much.
