Presidential run? She's battling with Pawlenty to become leading Republican from Minnesota. I wonder if she really thinks she has a chance in a general election. I doubt she could get elected to the Senate in Minnesota.

It'll be a big help to Obama if the Tea Party picks its own candidate. Splits the Republican vote and allows Obama to win reelection.

She doesn't have to be the leading Republican from Minnesota to run for president.

  6. She's a Tea Partier - unrealistic expectations are required qualifications for membership.

Michele Bachmann is exploring both Senate and Presidential options. That is very clear.

Has anyone ever gone from Congress straight to the White House?

I think Bachmann wants what Palin has and wouldn't mind being a VP candidate on a losing ticket. People would point out that she's smarter than Palin. (Yeah, I know... high bar...) and she could start writing books and get a show on Fox etc...

The only incumbent Representative to be elected President is James Garfield.

I think it's safe to say he'll be the first and last.

The only race she could win in Minnesota is the race she's already won. No way she could beat Klobuchar. No way she could run for governor. She probably couldn't win in any of Minnesota's other House districts.
