Hopefully this isn't a repeat post (and if it is, sorry).. they've got two jobs open (different description for each). Sorry the e-mail address cuts off, but that's the way the site I saw these on has the job listed.

    1) The Tallahassee Democrat, a 50,000-circulation daily in Florida's state capital, is seeking a sports copy editor and
designer for its night universal copy desk. The successful applicant will design pages, edit copy and write headlines in the
news, sports and business sections, with sports as the primary area of concentration. Applicants with a college degree and at
least two years of professional experience are preferred, but outstanding recent journalism graduates with impressive
internships also will be considered. Excellent headline-writing and copy-editing skills are essential. The Democrat serves the
most highly educated community in Florida; Tallahassee is the home of Florida State University and Florida A&M University.

    2) Are you adept at packaging photos, graphics and words to produce fresh, vibrant and useful sports page designs? Do your
headlines grab readers by the ears and demand that they pay attention? Are you a complete journalist who is equally at ease
with words and artwork? Are you a hard-core sports nut? If you said yes to all the above, let's talk. The Tallahassee Democrat is
searching for its primary sports page designer. The Democrat is purchasing a state-of-the-art front end computer system featuring InDesign. You must have skills in pagination programs such as InDesign and Quark and graphics programs such as Illustrator, Freehand and PhotoShop. If you can construct informational graphics in addition to producing vibrant designs, you could seal the deal. Applicants with a college degree and at least two years of professional experience are preferred, but outstanding recent
journalism graduates with impressive internships also will be considered. E-mail cover letter, resume and PDF work samples
to Kent Nichols, news editor, at kcnichols@..., or mail the above to Nichols at P.O. Box 990, Tallahassee FL 32302-0990.

Don't know. I know this opening was created when one of their designers left for Palm Beach ... again. She was at Palm Beach in August then left in May to go back to the Democrat and is now leaving again to go back to South Florida.
