This story came out in February, but it didn't get posted on-line until this week. Personally, I think it's a phenomenal piece of writing. Probably one of the best magazine pieces this year. But Paterniti is sometimes a polarizing writer. Give it a read, if you can find the time.

  2. This guy talked about this in an especially interesting episode of This American Life that aired sometime last year. I haven't read the story yet so I'm not sure how much of what's in it was just repeated on the radio show, but it might be worth a listen for anyone interested.

Last semester, our magazine prof. had us critique this story. I really enjoyed it.
