Good call. Just because you can mix things doesn't mean should.

I ran into the local Budweiser distributor at the bar earlier this week. We started talking about those beers. He's worried there's going to be a rash of DUIs caused by this new pre-mixed red beer.

When you mix your own red beer, you're effectively cutting the alcohol content in half. You're diluting it with tomato juice, etc. Drinking 12 oz. of your homemade red beer is like drinking 6 oz. of regular beer.

This Clamato beer isn't like that. It's brewed at full strength, so 12 oz. of it has the same alcohol as 12 oz. of straight beer. He's afraid people who normally drink two or three homemade red beers will drink the Clamato at the same rate and get drunk.

Are there a lot of people who normally drink two or three homemade red beers?

I've been known to have a few while on vacation instead of Bloody Marys.

The Bud man said this beer was being aimed directly at the Hispanic market, where red beers are very popular. He said it was tested marketed in south Texas, SoCal and other areas with a big Latino populations.

They'll probably puke before they get drunk.

I don't remember the show. Can I assume this lady was in it?

Louise Robey was the star of 'Friday the 13th: The Series,' and the only reason to watch.
Although she never dressed like that on the TV show.

ah. Yeah, dressing like that would make her an easier victim.
