I keep mine on shuffle and never get all the way through, so I don't really have a top 10.

The odd thing is that whenever The Who's Baba O'Riley comes on, it's followed by one of the Pearl Jam versions I have.

I have called up Tom Petty's Down South, from his new albbum, several times in the past two days.

Great choice. Superb song, superb artist.

DP, Forbert's early '80s stuff was pretty good across the board. "Goin' Down to Laurel" was a cult classic. And another one of his songs is one of my favorites of all-time: "It Isn't Gonna Be That Way."

Songs which keep popping up on my mix CDs, again and again and again...

    "Overkill," Colin Hay (acoustic version)
    "Hemmorhage In My Hands," Fuel
    "Flagpole Sitta," Harvey Danger
"The Impression That I Get," Mighty Mighty Bosstones
"I Don't Like Mondays," Boomtown Rats
    "Mexican Radio," Wall of Voodoo
"She Fucking Hates Me," Puddle of Mudd
    "Possession," Sarah McLachlan

I'm a huge Pernice Brothers fan. Good song - can't wait for the new album.

I don't have an I-Pod. I know that I've been playing the hell out of Since You've Been Gone by Kelly Clarkson.

Your point? Once in a Lifetime and many others on here have been out for a longer while.

No point, merely post padding. :D However, I prefer "Since You've Been Gone" with some visual accompaniment.

pallister, I've never listened to Son Volt, but am pretty sure I'd dig them. Any album you'd recommend as a good starting point?

"the song remains the same" - zeppelin
    "fuck you lucy" - atmosphere
    "hostile apostle" - 311
    "renegades of funk" - rage
    "roadhouse blues" - doors
    "right back" - sublime
    "ho's" - pepper
"inaudible melodies" - jack johnson (based on a UCSB class, Film Studies 192a: classical film theory ... in case anyone actually gives a shit, I feel like there were a lot of jack songs previously listed)
"got my mind made up" - tupac
    "achilles last stand" - zeppelin

    I'm a music-scatterfuck.
