    From the Pope's list:

    Roberto Alomar
    Craig Biggio
    Bert Blyleven
    Barry Bonds
    Roger Clemens
    Andre Dawson
    Tom Glavine
    Ken Griffey Jr.
    Rickey Henderson
    Derek Jeter
    Randy Johnson
    Chipper Jones
    Greg Maddux
    Pedro Martinez
    Mike Piazza
    Tim Raines
    Manny Ramirez
    Mariano Rivera
    Alex Rodriguez
    Pudge Rodriguez
    Curt Schilling
    Frank Thomas
    Alan Trammell
    Omar Vizquel

I also tried narrowing it down to 10, but that was pretty damn tough. I got it down to 15 no-doubters, and that was with knocking personal favorites Piazza and Raines off the list.

Crimson, good call on Rice. Players should be judged in comparison to their own era. I know this isn't the best comparison and I'm not saying Biggio isn't a HOF'er, but in their respective eras, pitchers (fixed) :-[ feared Rice a helluva lot more than Biggio.

    Oops.

While I'm here, how about some veteran's committee support for Jim Kaat -- three-time 20-game winner, including 25 wins one year. 283 career wins and a 3.45 career ERA.

Narrowing it down to 10 was tough, but I did on my ballot. I left some no doubters off because of that. Many would say my picks were homer all-star picks (four Braves), but they really weren't. When forced to make a decision between a guy that I've read posted all these career numbers and a guy that I actually saw do it, I went with the guy I've seen. There was nothing sinister about it.

Yes, Joe Jackson was at the top of the list. Pete Rose is on there, too. Both get in on baseball ability, but have it noted on their plaque why they were banned.

Horseshit criteria. Hitters feared Mark Wohlers more than they did Greg Maddux.

Didn't Pope already say that we should not be limiting the list to 10?
