We have smart enough baseball fans around here and I think it would be a cool idea for a board-wide Hall of Fame vote. PM your ballot to me by Friday, August 28th at 10 am Eastern time. The SportsJournalists.com Baseball Hall of Fame class will be announced on Friday.

    Rules:
    Takes 75% to merit induction
A current player has to have played in the majors for 10 years to be eligible (so no Pujols, Ichiro)
Banned players are allowed (Rose, Black Sox, etc.), but you are allowed/encouraged to make your judgments about whether their gambling involvement means they should be in the SJ HOF
When judging current players, be conservative and assume that their best days are behind them (i.e. they are not going to regain their peak)

Suggested players to consider (in alphabetical order)
    Roberto Alomar
    Jeff Bagwell
    Harold Baines
    Craig Biggio
    Bert Blyleven
    Barry Bonds
    Kevin Brown
    Eddie Cicotte
    Roger Clemens

Are you limited as to the amount of players for which you can vote? Also, why no Santo?

Standard HOF ballot, dickens, limits you to voting for 10 players.

I'm sure you can vote for Santo if you'd like

Mizzou voted yes on Bert, no on Jack. My respect for him just went up marginally.

With Morris, I can't get past the 3.91 ERA.

We've done something similar about 100 times... So what? Let's do it again... There's a reason these threads always wind up with 200-plus posts. We can't get enough of it... :D
