The shortest distance between Point A and Point B

    MapQuest, Google et al are wonderful in getting you from town to town, esp. over long distances. But so is Rand McNally.

    I agree, Google is the best. I can waste hours looking at Google Earth and exploring Chicago, etc. from on high. But I use the map function mostly to figure up mileage checks.

    google is superior. the best feature is how it automatically gives you three smaller maps - an overall one, one for where you start out, and one for where you finish. the latter two are almost always necessary for me.

    that said, i use my new GPS most of the time. it once had me driving into the ocean around jacksonville, but otherwise it seems to work OK.

    I use expedia maps a lot, too. I refuse to use mapquest as it once took me driving the wrong way, on a one way street and into a building in downtown St. Louis as I was leaving state football championships one day.
