    Yeah, not all of us are on the road or work away from the office most of the time. Thanks for making me hate my preps job even more.

    Had a Christmas party at my prof's house last night. Met a guy from the local paper, made a nice contact, plus got to have some nice social time with the faculty.

    All in all, it was a pleasant way to spend a few hours.

    Ours used to have an open bar. This was popular.

    Sadly, the parties were seriously scaled down a few years ago.

    We have a get together in the office with the company providing the food (no booze...it IS during the workday after all). It's not mandatory, but it is, if you know what I mean. The fun thing is, no one in this office really likes anyone else. We work together OK, but there are maybe 3 of us (out of 15) that would do anything outside of work.

    So it's always uncomfortable. And we do it every year. Habit I guess.
