To Birdscribe, I deserve compliments from no one but I'll take them just the same. Thanks.

To a few of you who have been there through my hell of the last few months, my undying gratitude. It will be excessively difficult to repay the kindness I've received to each of you, but I hope to be there if any of you are in the same predicament.

To those who get me, thank you. To those who don't, I hope to improve the channels of communication.

To every one who has been so kind to compliment me, thank you. I am beyond touched, not to mention that I'm blushing.

Also, TheSportsPredictor, thank you for introducing me to Miranda Lambert and Neko Case. I am in love with both of them. Their music is great.

My father was a high-school dropout. He was a tough man. Worked thirty-three years in a factory.
He instilled in me to surround myself with people who were strong. Who were dedicated. Who were intelligent. Committed.
    You are those people.
Not because I agree with you. Not because you agree with me. But, because you make me think. And that’s how we all grow.

Neko played in town tonight but I had to miss it due to prior engagements. It appears the New Pornographers will be here in March but I'm not sure if she'll be coming back with them.

My thanks to those of you who mentioned me to the good here. I often wish I were in life what I try to be on this board.

I also wanted to bump this back to the front page. Things have been a little chippy boardwide the last few days and I wanted to remind folks that there's more good here than bad, and that just because you can say something without being held personally accountable for it doesn't mean you should.

Compliments, salaams, and high praise to Double Down for the Sing, Memory thread, too.

Wow. I hadn't really read this thread until now. My sincere thanks to everyone who mentioned me, as it really is nice to know sometimes that some of the 25,000 PMs have mattered. :)

    That being said:

BYH, you are the best online pally I could have. I can't think of a single conversation we've had that I'd trade for anything. You make me laugh, you make me think, and we can be ruthless just between us and get all our anxieties out. I love you. SOAP SCUM!

sportschick, you have this insane gift of always being chipper, no matter the circumstance. Even your DAMMITS! have a little spirit behind them because I know you and I can hear you saying them. I know we hit a rough patch when you first came on the board, but I'm so glad I got to know you better. You have brightened my day many times...so thank you.

To the other SportsJournalists.com ladies, thank you for balancing out my stupidity. I know I'm not the best representative of our gender on here, but I try to be in real life. So thank you for your kindness, your grace, your intellect and your morals that counteract my drooling, my anger and my short-temperedness. It is greatly appreciated.

To everyone I have met/spent time with on an outing, you're ALL awesome. sxy is right...thanks Moddy for those, because they're a great part of my summer.

To Jones, jgmacg, Fenian and Double Down, may I someday write one thing that even approaches something you've done on your worst day. You all inspire me with your way with words, and I appreciate how open you've all been to a stupid girl with lots of questions.

To Embassy Row, thank you for always being there, even when I don't want you to be. Your friendship and our chats have meant a lot to me. I hope you know that.

To pallister, you have a gift. I hope you will someday gain the confidence to do something with it.

To mike311gd, you are the man. I'm frightened by your prolific posting, but about 99 percent of them are real gems. Which may be what frightens me the most.

To everyone else I've forgotten, you make this a place I have to check, just because I know someone will have posted something witty or thought-provoking or just plain milk-out-the-nose funny. So thank you for being the best collection of freaks on the Interwebs.

Oh, and for Birdscribe: To the smartest person I'll ever know, one who has answered every question I've had about PR, one who has been straight with me on the positives and the negatives, one who sent me roughly 12 texts (the same one) after we met up in NY for the semi-official outing, one who is kind, considerate and also very funny...to him, I say thank you for taking one PM and letting it build into a true friendship.
