    As Starman notes, "the U" is common usage here.

    I'm in my 50s and it been like that for as long as I can remember.

  11. If someone says "The U" and the average person (living outside Minnesota) thinks Minnesota, yeah, Miami is clearly an also-ran.

    And yeah, he looks like George Bluth.

    Ten years ago, I would have been tempted to start typing on this thread and never stop. Now I'll just stop myself before I start. I will say I think we've just seen the tip of the ol' iceberg so far. The two incidents that ultimately led to his "resignation." The reporter's story. Now the $300,000 in settlements from VCU and the "U" for discrimination suits. The hits will keep on coming.
