I'm sure one of my friends will cry when he checks his e-mail tomorrow.

I love looking at the career of a player who played forever and see who he was teammates with at the beginning of his career, in other words, players from the previous generation who played forever.

    Some of Franco's rookie teammates:

    Steve Carlton
    Pete Rose
    Bill Robinson
    Willie Montanez
    Ron Reed
    Sparky Lyle
    Tug McGraw

Then there's guys with cool names like Porfi Altamirano. I think I have 90 of his '83 Topps cards.

And Julio's older than all of them!

Julio Franco is John Franco's grandfather.

What does that make Matt Franco?

Julio Franco is probably older than Franco-American, or the Franco-Prussian War, for that matter.

Oh, sure, go with the facts. I looked it up on Wiki, and you know what I learned tonight? (Remember: I watched a commentary of Boy Meets World tonight; two, actually.) Matt Franco grew up in Simi Valley, which is where Shawn Hunter's sixth-grade class neighbor actually grew up. Ben Savage and Rider Strong forgot the poor girl's name and called her "Simi" for the entire first season of the show.

See what happens when you give me a fact?

Julio Franco remembers when Abner Doubleday first invented the game of baseball. He was hanging out with his friend Abner Graves at the time.
