Jordan Farmar became the latest Nets player to head for the European leagues when he signed with the Israeli champion Maccabi Tel Aviv. Farmar, a 6-foot-2 guard, will play for the team as long as the N.B.A. lockout continues, Tel Aviv said in a statement.

Farmar, who is Jewish, will be eligible to play as an Israeli, not counting against the limit of four foreign players per team in the Israeli league. He won 2 NBA titles with the Los Angeles Lakers.

And for once, he can be the starter without having to look over his shoulder at a Deron or a Derek.
