The raddest sports posters

    I can't find evidence of this at the moment, but I think it was Felton Spencer who was the genesis of the term "posterize." I believe his quote, about Jordan, was along the lines of you'd better not hesitate against him, or else you'll end up on a poster.

    So here is Spencer getting posterized by A.C. Green:



    (I believe a sure way to be posterized is to be a big man coming late on help defense inside.)

    This was the one on my wall in junior high. I appreciated that they were somewhat subtle with the reference to "The Natural":

    When Montana went to the Chiefs, I took his 49ers poster and altered it by recoloring it and drawing in the Chiefs logo...yeah, I had time on my hands when I was a kid.

    I also liked the old SI NBA posters that had the team's arena at the top or bottom along with 6 shots of the starts and 6th man.
