    I am guessing there will be a major week or two of conditioning before the pads go on, or much more monitoring of the players during the offseason.

    Conditioning isn't an issue anymore. Players work out 365 days a year and show up in shape. You have OTAs and mandatory mini-camps in the offseason. Those of you who report out of shape, the asthma field's over there. (Unless you're Albert Haynesworth, of course.)

    Seven weeks of preseason training in both baseball and football to get players in shape is an anachronism that needs to go.

    The off-season workout for most NFL teams is pretty extensive, and it's actually pretty rare (Albert Haynesworth) for a player under contract to skip all of them.
