  1. The three biggest rackets on this planet: college books, mattresses and weddings.

I'm in the market for one of those things, and I'm not in college.

    :(

  4. on mattresses: wait until the local furniture store goes tits-up. go there on the last day. make sure you have a pickup truck. voila.

on weddings: just go to vegas, dammit.

on textbooks: date the hot chick in your class who's too stupid to shop half.com, and "study" with her.

Yeah, I was looking at beds, thinking mattresses were like $200. So I found a really cute frame for like $700...and then went to look for mattresses and they're like $900.

    Sonsabitches. :(

    Sorry. Back to expensive books.

you know, i'm really glad that i hate bed frames.

if i sleep higher than knee level, i start to freak out.

nice little money saver, i guess.

  7. $700 for a frame? that's probably a fancy wooden frame, and it probably includes the headboard, too.

you can buy a standard metal frame for $50, then shop for the headboard later.

    back to porn, er, textbooks...

    I have a metal frame.

I want a sleigh bed. I want a grownup bed. I've had a metal frame with a disconnected headboard (which is leaning against a wall) for 20 years. I want a grown-up bed with mattresses I want to sleep on. I've earned it, dammit.

A lot of places will include a basic metal fram with the mattress.

And then on the first day of class the professor says you must buy a supplementary bound volume of random clips that sets you back another $30 even though it cost the local printer $1.50. And you can never sell those back.

  11. I don't see any text from Tom or SC. Something keeps distracting me...
