    He doesn’t need a reason. The 2nd amendment is an absolute freedom. No restrictions. No reason. It’s the only right for which there’s no wrong. That’s the NRA GOP position.
    OTOH. They were on their property. They didn’t shoot. You can reasonably argue that in today’s atmosphere they had a reasonable subjective belief that they were in danger. And that if they called the police the police would be intentionally slow to react if at all.
