The Penn State penalty

    $60 million fine.
    PSU banned from post season for 4 years.
    PSU scholarships reduced from 25 to 15 for four years.
    Vacates wins from 1998 to 2011.
    5 years probation
    NCAA initiates its own investigation on individuals in addition to criminal actions.
    PSU enters integrity agreement with NCAA and Big 10.
    NCAA will appoint integrity monitor for five years.

    Let the healing begin.
    Tough. I'm not a big fan of vacating the wins. Those players didn't have anything to do with what Sandusky and company did. But it could've been worse.

    Shot, at least the community will not take that big of a hit. I still don't get the vacating of the wins. I really don't think its fair.

    I would have liked the death penalty, but I'm glad the NCAA came down on PSU hard on them anyways.

    I believe that means a whole lot less than you do. People are not going to remember the NCAA record book. They're going to remember the games.

    Vacating the wins seems silly to me.

    That's what I think, too. "Vacating" wins is always a ridiculous penalty to me, whether it's Coach Cal or Paterno. Silliness. What happened happened.

    One last thing regarding the vacating of victories: That was what Joe Paterno deserved, more than anything.
