If so, I don't understand why she's charged with second- rather than first-degree murder.

He said they "seem intentional" not "they were definitely intentional." Bit of a difference.

 

Well, sure. But if he indeed decides that's the conclusion the evidence supports, I would expect the charges to be upgraded.

 

Are you talking about pre-meditation? It doesn't typically mean what a lot of people think it does, i.e. a "planned" murder. The "planning" can happen in about two seconds before the act.

Have to admit that the Animal House parade was one of the first thoughts that crossed my mind when I heard about this.
