Wonder if her dad was aware she's mentally ill. Wonder if she even had one drink.

Cops seem to be hinting she was on drugs and not booze.

And actually, it's much worse if she did this and wasn't on something.

There's no such thing as having a few drinks and having a good time. Every public event -- football games, concerts, etc. -- is just a drinking contest these days.

That seemed odd when the capt in the story from Sat night said it was too early to tell if it was intentional. I know there's drunk drivers that don't realize they hit someone, but that was quite a few people for someone to be drunk and not realize without doing it on purpose.

You can't have a good time at a drinking contest?

Wouldn't surprise me if this was a botched suicide -- by pills -- attempt.

Pills can impair judgment just as much - if not more - than alcohol.

An alcoholic friend had a device installed on his car that he had to blow in and if it detected alcohol, it wouldn't start.

He slept is his car a couple of times but he hasn't driven drunk since.

In theory, a similar device could be standard issue in cars and then the likelihood of a drunk driving accident would drop to near zero.

In reality and in a few years, when self-driving cars become a thing, drunk driving and tragedies like this will drop to near zero.

John Blutarsky and Daniel Simpson Day managed to destroy a homecoming parade without getting anyone hurt.
