Didn't Peter Angelos do something similar to keep DC from getting a team for quite some time?

I don't think he filed a lawsuit, but I think he threatened one and the league believed there was enough muscle behind it that they gave him a great deal. He got guaranteed annual revenues and a guaranteed sale price if he ever did want to sell, plus he got the rights to a cable network. Probably made a billion dollars on that deal.

Not guarenteed annual revenue, but a guarenteed sale price. The most horrible thing, and Bud Selig should burn in hell over is that Angels not only owns the majority MASN, the regional cable sports network with the rights to the Orioles, but MASN owns the Nationals rights. The Nats are minority owners of MASN but they cant be majority or equal owners of MASN. Angelos have been screwing the Nats by refusing to pay them FMV of the broadcast rights fees. The matter has been in arbitration for a year and Selig has taken the matter under study of nearly that long.

The Orioles don't own MASN, angelos does. So, even if he sells the team, he still own the network and the rights to broadcast both the Nats and O's. MASN may be the worst regional sports network ever. When the games aren't on they show ESPNNews. Home Team Sports had better production values.

Again! Just in time for the playoffs and the NFL!

Another Coliseum sewage problem began in the sixth inning, this one near the bathroom in the A’s dugout, and stadium employees used mops and towels to clean up the mess. At one point, bench coach Chip Hale crawled along the dugout bench to fetch the lineup cards and his paperwork.

All this in the same week A's management hurled another insult at the fan base for not buying tickets for the games down the stretch. Also the same week playoff tickets sold out so quickly, the A's announced they were taking the tarp off the third deck of the main grandstand. Mt. Davis will remain covered.

Can't find the other topic dedicated to the baseball battle of the Bay, but this should be separate from the hot stove thread, no?

    A's next stop, San Francisco?

Where would the Athletics go if they were to leave the Bay Area?
