    Don't know what the COL is in that part of New Jersey, but that salary is insanely high for a public school teacher. I have teachers in my family with three times as much service who aren't within 20 grand of that salary figure.

    She's prob not buying a house in that part of NJ on her own. Overall in NJ that salary for someone
    with that amount of time is a little above average.

    A district I'm hoping to get hired at when I finish my program this December will pay that much after about as much time as she had and that district is on the low end for districts in my area. I think out comes down to what cost of living is.

    That's BS. You should teach for the sheer joy of it and feel grateful to live in your parents' basement.
