Interesting story in the NYT today about Vermonters voting to close their only nuclear power plant despite the fact that they will lose one third of their electrical capacity.

The leak is a big issue, even if the residents of Vernon don't think so because it's not in the drinking water. But the actual leak is not the biggest issue. It's the fact that Entergy (the main company that owns Vermont Yankee) allegedly lied about having pipes that carry radioactive material underground, which is why there is a tritium leak in the first place.

People don't being lied to, and it's a great idea for state politicans to hook themselves up to.

A Vernon representative actually wants them to tear down VY and build a new one as part of President Obama's nuclear energy push.

Reba McIntyre wonders if this means they will hang an innocent man who mistakenly put his faith in a backwoods southern lawyer to get him his freedom......

Maybe what the Vermonters really want is a dental plan.

Why do you need a dental plan when you don't have teeth?
