The NFL violence problem is in the stadiums, not casino just elevators

Ah, that makes much more sense. I've removed my post.

That said, I think the shot at Janay Rice is unnecessary and offensive considering she is so clearly displaying classic behavior of a domestic abuse victim.

But ... it's a sanctioned outlet for beating the fuck out of someone. To some fans, a game ticket is all the outlet they need. But I don't know how you police that until it's too late. There are probably dozens of people in NFL stadiums every weekend with rap sheets.

Dozens? You gotta be kidding me. One of every 31 adults is involved in the criminal justice system. Considering the demographics of football fans, I imagine the corellation to be even higher. Call it, say, 1 in 20, or 5%.

There are 16 home games a weekend, with an average of say 70,000 fans. That's 56,000 per weekend.

See my gut instinct would be in the opposite direction, since the probability of being arrested tracks socioeconomic status, and football tickets aren't cheap, I'd actually think that, despite having its share of meatheads, a football stadium would have fewer people with rap sheets than national average. Doesn't mean dozens is a close estimate.

Based on what has gone on so far with team it seems like the new stadium is jinxed.
So much for the stadium of tomorrow.

All that technology and they can't improve the restroom experience.

I was at the White Sox game a couple weeks ago, last weekend of the year, beautiful weather on a Saturday night, packed house. In about the eighth inning, a brawl erupts in our section. Have no idea how it started, but at some point, out of the blue, the guy next to me throws his beer about 15 rows down and hits some other guy in the face with it. At that point, the guy and his friends start hauling ass down there, and the guy they attack starts throwing punches, too. It was scary as fuck for a little bit. I grabbed my 5-year-old and turned his back to it. And it took security - no shit - at least five minutes to show up. Luckily, it just ended up being a few drunks throwing haymakers, but there's those first couple minutes where you think someone might get killed in these things, because it happens.

First place I ever saw two women fighting -- I mean full-on punches, not just a little scratchfest -- was at a White Sox-Brewers game in Milwaukee.

It happens in baseball. It happens anywhere. But the NFL seems to be the place the thugs have decided to gather. It's even worse in areas with a large MMA influence, and the Bay Area is arguably the capital of that shit.

There's simply no point going to the stadium anymore.
Whatever visceral experience there is to be had is offset by countless benefits at home.
I invested in a quality entertainment system so I don't have to deal with 25-year-old reprobates who can't manage their alcohol.

When I covered baseball, there was a half-price night during the week. We would just watch, like clockwork, in the seventh or eight when the brawls would start erupting in the upper tank cheap seats. It never failed.

    Alcohol, testosterone. What a mix.
