The Newest Kindle

    The textbooks-by-Kindle bit was, for me, the first time it really hit me how much this technology could take off if it's played right.

    I don't know if that bit about the multi-purpose gadget wins over specially designed gadget every time bit is actually true. Or perhaps it's just not true for me personally. I much prefer to have one thing that does what it does really well over a thing that does a dozen things poorly.

    Then again, I still read newspapers. Clearly I'm out of touch.

    I'm not buying a kindle for a couple hundo when I can just buy a computer and a wireless card.

    Before we know it, laptops will be so light, cheap and wireless accessible, that kindles will be obsolete.
