    This is loooooong, but it's kind of cool, a piece in this week's New Yorker about this subculture of men in England who poach rare bird eggs (pun intended):

    For some reason, I find stories like this about strange obsessives fascinating. Not only are there obsessive egg collectors, but there are obsessive specialized cops/prohis who track them down.
