    If you want to reopen the New Yorker archives, as well as get a subscription, I just saw this deal via Facebook -- $5 for a 12-month subscription. Might as well get the print + digital + archives subscription, I said. It would be wasting money not to sign up:

    I am a few weeks into my trial sub to the New Yorker, and I ain't gonna make it. I just don't have time to read through an issue before the nest two show up in my mailbox. Some great writing, no doubt, in spite of the wacko lefty slant ;) but just too many words! Then again, I also started a trial sub for home delivery of the NY Times, and that takes a bigly amount of reading time each day, too.
