Anybody catch Musberger on the Rose Bowl? As an SC player broke off a long run:

"Nobody will catch him........ uh, tackled from behind at the 20."

Then be glad you weren't on the fora I used to be on. Pwned was commonplace, especially in: "I PWN J00!!!!!!!1111+shift"

And yes, Gumble doesn't just suck, he swallows.

Here's more on Gumble's Pats-Giants perfomance from Barry Jackson, Miami Herald:

    • A quick recap of Bryant Gumbel's work on NFL Network: He usually wouldn't even bother saying how many yards were gained on a play (among the most basic of play-by-play responsibilities). He didn't immediately identify the ensuing down and distance after a play ended. He didn't consistently identify who committed penalties, and sometimes he talked over the referees' calls.

Gumbel only occasionally named defenders in pass coverage; identified 49ers running back Frank Gore as ''Al''; called Dallas quarterback Tony Romo ''Rick''; said a Redskins field-goal attempt was ''good,'' even though it wasn't; and displayed little enthusiasm on big plays.

Otherwise, he was perfect for the job!

Bryant Gumbel displays all the enthusiasm of an owner of an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet watching a gang of NFL linemen walk through the door.
