    Agree.

    American racism is like background radiation. It exists everywhere and in everything to varying degrees. Like highway design and medical treatment.

    My point - and that of the person questioning Baquet in the original post - is whether it gets addressed as such.

    The tough part editorially is deciding whether or not racist practice is a sufficient basis for labeling some individual or institution "racist."

    There used to be a pretty big sports media column in one of the Canadian papers. The reporter had good sources. We'd have these town halls, and the key stuff would end up in his column.

    One day, the head of the company said that if he read anything from this meeting in the paper, there would be no more meetings. This time, there were no leaks.

    Interesting that Fox “News” uses that word.

    This is a great series pointing out cultural bias and racism from the past and current America.

    Both my 14 year old and I read the entire magazine section this week. Really fascinating stuff and people should really read it before they judge. But they won’t.
