I suspect No. 2. They figured it would be a bunch so they used a bigger number than everyone else to get a jump and assumed it would grow from there.

Given the number affected, it really is amazing that at this point there have been just three deaths. Some unbelievable work by the medical professionals in Boston.

This paper's front page is, well, different (link it should send you to No. 37 in the front pages slide show):

And at least the Montgomery Advertiser got the city correct this time.

Did it? I'm going from memory, but I believe it said there were police outside his hospital bed.

That's some mighty fine parsing of language, but that's exactly the sort of thing police do for PR purposes in these situations. I'm guessing he wasn't taken into custody while being treated for wounds, but they weren't exactly letting him out of their sight.

Enjoy the Post's reckless bullshit while you can. The Guardian makes a decent case this week that the end will be coming sooner rather than later. With the rearranging of the Murdoch empire, it's not going to be able to exist losing $80 million a year for much longer.

Hey that is something to celebrate - a bunch of journalists losing their jobs.

So let's make sure we get the rules straight now --- journalists losing their jobs is OK if it means the closing of a publication we consider to be right wing.....

    Got it.

Journalists losing jobs isn't so bad if they work at the wrong newspapers.

Well, the Huffington Post has "into custody" in quotes when describing the New York Post's story. I don't consider either authoritative news sources, though, so perhaps the Huffington Post got it wrong.

There is a major difference between the loss of journalism jobs and journalists losing jobs.
