How to use those Tandy telephone couplers at a pay phone.

Sounds like something from the Newhart show.

There was a time when I could sing the entire extended version of the "Cheers" theme song (Late at night when you've got no life, the check is in the mail/And your little angel hung the cat up by its tail ...).

The four letters Lou Brown writes down for Rick Vaughn's impromptu eye test are 'L P R C.' And that the photo of 'Ryan' Brown referred to was actually Sandy Koufax.

I often bragged to one friend of mine about my banal knowledge of "Major League" when he called me randomly one day to ask me the question about the eye test. Chump thought he could fool me. Nope.

The lead singer of early 90s punk band Lust Control was HM Magazine publisher Doug Van Pelt. He was backed by members of Texas punk band, One Bad Pig. They wore ski masks on stage when they played to hide their identity.

One Bad Pig covered the Johnny Cash song, "Man in Black". Johnny joined them as a special guest singer on a whim. It's one of my favorite Cash covers ever.

Does knowing how to get to the high school football stadium in Bumfuck in a state you no longer live in and will never work in again, count as a useless bit of information?
