Having been handed my head more than once while interviewing experienced politicians, it's sad to see an amateur step on his johnson. Congress has always had its clowns. Now it appears Congress is turning into Clown College.

I agree. Besides, if you were in that Congressman's position, wouldn't you just assume you're going to be asked about it and have a non-answer answer on the ready? I know I would.

All he had to do was smile and say, "Look, I'm only talking about the State of the Union address right now. I won't address questions on any other topic." Or something. He can always, off camera and in his office, curse the reporter. The only thing I can figure is that he hired Ryan Leaf as his media consultant.

Yeah, it's hard to believe any journalist would agree to interview a politician caught in turmoil, but agree to limit the conversation to the day's events:

Federal prosecutors are preparing to announce criminal charges against Rep. Michael Grimm, capping a two-year FBI investigation that ranges from his business dealings to his first campaign for Congress in 2010, according to his lawyer and U.S. officials briefed on the matter.

In recent months, public attention has focused on the 44-year-old House member's campaign donations after a friend and donor was charged with funneling illegal contributions to Grimm's campaign four years ago.

The former FBI agent and two-term Republican lawmaker from New York made headlines when he was shown on camera threatening to throw a reporter over a Capitol Hill balcony after an interview following the State of the Union address in January.
