The Jones: a profile on how he does what he does so well

Discussion in 'Journalism topics only' started by Evil ... Thy name is Orville Redenbacher!!, Dec 17, 2010.

  1. A good, long read.
I would be intimidated as hell trying to tackle a piece on a man who writes as well as Jones. This guy did a good job.

Yeah, the story's crazy good. Crazier? The guy who wrote it--he's just a student.
  4. He did a a great job with it.

Oh, Things That Carried Him should be required reading for all. His book, Out of Orbit, is also awesome.

My God, that was a fantastic story. That was one of the first Jones pieces I'd ever read.

Pretty good resume for a student as well.

His sports pieces have appeared in The Globe and Mail, The Kansas City Star, National Post, Soccer 360 magazine and on CBCSports.ca.

Is it OK for me to hate a student? Because I do now.

All I can add to this great story is I have been to the Elgin Street Diner, where they eat at the end of the story. Great place for 24-hour eating in Ottawa.
