The Internet dating world is a cesspool

POF is where people go to get laid. Same with OK Cupid. Internet dating is lame overall; it's hard to tell someone, "Hey! I want to get to know you!" over various messages and wording the messages right so you get responses. Females look for eye candy first and foremost.

My feeling is that it allows you the opportunity to get to know people whom you might not have met otherwise. It's too bad you haven't had the kind of success you'd hoped for but, as I said, it's worked for me.

My wife still laughs that, during her single days, a dating website tried to set her up with her brother.

This is the kind of shit that happens when people meet online.

Fair enough. It is much different than "real-world dating" though, in the sense of meeting others. Just a different vibe.

Sure, but there are also different vibes to real-world dating. It's not one size fits all. How you meet someone in a bar will greatly vary from a book store or a supermarket or school or wherever. Or maybe you're being set up by friends at a house party.

So, yeah, online is different. But everything is different from everything else.

Dating is a bitch, hang in there.

I always bypassed the online route and got skanks drunk at bars.
