I suspect the majority who make videos do not donate. I'm sure all the celebrities do donate.

This became more about the look-at-me element than the charity a long time ago, but the byproduct is a very good thing.

I've always wondered similarly about charity runs and why people need to raise money to run and run to raise money. Why not just raise the money and put the effort and time of doing the event into raising more money? Why do we need to be motivated by an activity, a free tshirt and terrible handout sports drinks to donate money?

    Jesus Christ.

This is a social marketing campaign that has raised something like $2.3 million for the ALS Association in two weeks compared to $25,000 in the comparable period last year.

May I be so bold as to suggest it is achieving its objectives?

Paul Bissonette had a great one. Lots of hockey players stepping up for this.

Agreed, especially if Sanders approached McCarver and volunteered to be on the receiving end of the dumping.

    People will bitch about anything.

What is the harm in this? And who cares if it's a look at me stunt. It's raised money for a horrible, horrible disease.

One of my faves from a local OHL D-man (great kid from a great family):

  8. It's a disease whites folks (especially well-to-do ones) care about, unlike Ebola. Curious how much the Ebola association has raised for "awareness."

Be the first to start the Ebola awareness campaign.

The NY Jets cheated and used a firetruck's fire hose instead a bucket of ice water.

Waiting to see the video from the Jets Cheerleaders, who were among the Jets' challenges.

Using firehoses on a bunch of black players? Donald Sterling just kicked a puppy for not thinking to challenge his players before he sold the team.
