    As someone who is interested in stadiums and arenas, past and present, I find this rather fascinating. But it does illustrate the perils of having abandoned buildings stand around for years on end.

    Frankly, I'm surprised the owners didn't try to salvage some of the stuff.... or at least make a mini-museum out of it. What is supposed to be built at that site once it is demolished?

    Yup. some even break it down further into Western/Central/Eastern as well.

    I think it's going to be a parking lot for a new Bass Pro shop and parking for the historic Erie Canal terminus/inner harbor district, which is very close.

    Take a look at photos of Shibe Park and Roosevelt Stadium (in Jersey City) for some depressing pictures of ballparks that were closed.

    Upstate NY, broken into regions.
    Northern NY: Adirondacks, Watertown, Plattsburgh, Massena, Lake Placid
    Central NY: Syracuse, Utica, Ithaca
    Eastern NY: Albany, Saratoga
    Western NY: Buffalo, Rochester, Niagara Falls, Jamestown
    Southern Tier: Binghamton, Olean, Bath, Elmira
    Hudson Valley: Poughkeepsie, Middletown, Catskills
    Downstate: Anything south of Poughkeepsie.
    Got it?
    Good.
