Filipino bands who played for the folks outside Subic Bay (while there was still an American base in Subic Bay) were supposed to be fantastic.

Hate fucking journey, but the original lineup with neal schon, greg rollie and ansley dunbar was talented.

We need to put "talent" into perspective.

Neal Schon played with Santana onstage at Woodstock at age 16.

    Journey gets a pass.

Who are the greatest male rock vocalists of all time?

    Freddie Mercury?
    Rod Stewart?
    Chris Cornell?
    Eddie Vedder?
    Chris Robinson?
    Does Otis Redding count?

    My top three favorites:

    Mercury
    Daltrey
    Jeff Buckley (if he counts)

    Yeah, Daltrey. Of course.

    And Roy Orbison.

And along the lines of Otis (i.e. perhaps a separate category): Marvin Gaye.

If Otis Redding and Marvin Gaye are in the mix, Sam Cooke most definitely is.
