I think they are. Cornell has to be in there somewhere. That voice.

Journey isn't in, and Steve Perry had an even better voice.

Good point. But Journey wasn't part of a movement the way Soundgarden was, the whole Seattle sound phenomenon. I do think that the Screaming Trees were better.

I think that plays against Soundgarden. The Sex Pistols (Nirvana) and The Clash (Pearl Jam) are in, but no one else is from the 1970s British punk scene. Think of Soundgarden as the Buzzcocks and Alice in Chains as Gang of Four or Wire.

Both of them are Hall of Fame voices.

We've seen Cornell and Vedder croon together. Could Cornell and Perry collaborate?

I'm trying to hear that in my head but can't quite get there.

    Journey > Soundgarden

    Cornell > Perry

    You're wrong on both counts.

Not a big Soundgarden fan, but I'll take Cornell and Soundgarden over Perry and Journey. I found Perry -- and Journey as a whole -- extremely annoying. If I never hear 'Don't Stop Believin' ' again, I would be a mighty happy dude.

Journey's a great band if you still drive a Fiero.

And carry an oversized comb in your back pocket.
