Kicked out of two (likely) Hall of Fame bands by age 22. Today, an Army Special Forces veteran and owner of a philosophy degree from Columbia University.

He's the one who liked all their pretty songs, and he liked to sing along. And he liked to shoot his gun.

He's not Pete Best, he's Pete Better.

Very cool story. There's a good movie in there somewhere.

He did much better for himself than the drummer who quit Green Day just before they hit it big ... to pursue a journalism career.

As the two former journalists who are subjects of this story will tell you, it's much better to go from journalism to music stardom than the other way around.

Soundgarden is not a Hall of Fame band.
