I can imagine a stoned Chevy Chase watching this and getting an inspiration.

I believe the Mr. Noodle business is to cover for the fact that the original Mr. Noodle left the show. One of the Mr. Noodles is the guy who got zapped in "The Green Mile."

I have a feeling SS knows what they are doing with this guy. I am think doing rudimentary explanations of how something is done (or telling someone if something is wrong) is a very important step in a child's developmental process. I think Noodle also shows a child how to use prepositions like under, over, next, after, before. That step in language development, I think, is important.

I hate the segment, too. I love Elmo, but I hate Elmo's Room.

But then again, the show is for Lil 93 and not me, and she has not complained yet.

The juxstaposition of what is in Elmo's imagination (the room and it's furnishings) vs. what appears "real" (Dorothy the Goldfish, Mr. Noodle, the episode's guest baby, etc.) would be worth a doctoral thesis for someone.

My favorite Muppet Show skit ever was the first one... Mahna Mahma. To this day, I laugh my ass off whenever I see it...

Apparently, and there is You Tube evidence to back it up, a slightly less funny and much less produced version of that skit originated on Sesame Street.

I gotta give props to whoever mentioned Guy Smiley.

Some other classic Sesame Street moments:

    Letter B:

    Hey Food:

Richard Dawson doing the Family Food with the Hungry family:

And if anyone can find a greater Sesame Street song than this, I would be impressed:
