    There's no way in hell this little experiment will ever make a profit. I was just hoping for a shred of some sheen of actual journalism amid all the gloss.

    Having seen the product, I get it now-- it's about the continued Steve Jobs idolatry.

    The front page story on "The Daily" today, and I swear this is true, "Hinckley In Love: Reagan's Would-Be Assassin Finds Soul Mate." If this is the future of journalism, then God help us.

    I've seen better news on "The Daily Show" than what I've seen so far on The Daily.

    I think we really do need to view some of these endeavors cynically.
