The Gong Show with Dave Attell

Anybody else watch it?

The highlight of the first episode was Andy Dick and JB Smoove (who were two of the celebrity judges along with Dave Navarro of the Red Hot Chili Peppers) tag-team wrestling with two midgets, and a guy playing "Istanbul Not Constantinople" by They Might Be Giants on champagne glasses.

JB Smoove, though, is hilarious; just his delivery cracks me up. I remember him doing stand-up at my college like 12 years ago (I didn't go see him, but his name just stuck in my brain), and never heard from him again until he popped up as Leon on the last season of Curb Your Enthusiasm.

 

I missed part of it because Pearl Jam was playing on the Who special on VH1, but I never laughed during the parts I saw.

I never really laughed during the Reality Bites Back show either, which was disappointing.

 

Who knew Theo Von from MTV's Real World/Road Rules/Battle of the Sexes/Gauntlet was a stand-up comic?

 

I saw him on Comedy Central a couple of weeks ago. He was a little better than I expected, but not much.

Yeah, but I got Pearl Jam covering The Who on here.

 

It ain't the Gong Show without Gene Gene, the Dancin Machine....

 

And honestly? I have no idea what channel this new Gong Show is on. Somebody's marketing department half-assed it.
