"It is comforting to know that those who have come before me -- Willie Mays, Willie McCovey, Joe Montana and Jerry Rice, to name a few -- have forever remained in the hearts of the fans, as I know I will too."

Such a humble fella, isn't he?

I'll cry later ... or not.

Seriously, though, his letter to the fans was very classy. I hope he sucks it up and plays all six of the home games remaining with the Giants.

I don't like the prick, and that was my initial thought, too. But with 762 home runs and 15 years in the Bay Area, he's earned that right to be mentioned with the San Francisco greats, in my opinion.

My money is on the Angels or A's as destinations for Mr. Bonds.

  8. You think any team is going to pay big bucks for him?

That will inject some youth into the team.

God, I hope no AL team signs him but I'll bet some team does.

I think an AL team will. Look at his numbers and then think that he probably could do even better as a DH because he won't have to take days off because of playing in the field and whatnot.

    He's done.

Nobody is going to pony up 15 million for him next season.

But they might cough up 10 million for him. Hell, Mike Piazaa somehow got signed again last offseason. I don't see why an AL team wouldn't sign Bonds.
