  2. This is giving me a bloody headache, and not just because of the Weird Al photo.

Is the advertising a wrap? Or does it actually cut off the cover?

Not sure. I've only seen the digital. All I know is I'd be pissed if I'd bought the banner ad.

I can't begin to list the ways this is both hideous and a bad omen for the future of newspapers.

its gotta be on-line only, or a wrap paid for by the Casino folk for limited distribution.
No publisher or ad director, no matter what you think of the company, is going to sell advertising over advertising.
I know Sun Media as well as anyone, and while I'm no fan, not even they would do that.

It looks like the hed is Helvetica... what's wrong with that font?

Wrap or not, when a business buys the front-page banner, are they not assuming they'll be the first ad seen -- thus, the term 'front'?

There is no end to the way ad departments will whore out the product.

Is it just me or is that page too busy for a reader to want to look at it? Terrible, terrible, terrible.

It costs C$45 to see Weird Al? It's not like he's striking while the UHF-iron is hot.
