If Europe has the metric system how come you still order a "pint" of beer?

What's the point of Apollo 8? It's not going to the moon, so it's a waste of time in our efforts to get to the moon. Either we put a man on the moon or we shouldn't waste the fuel.

Reading the authoritative Wikipedia page on the issue, they just use a 568 milliliter glass.

"Aided by at least $43 million in assistance from the government of Massachusetts and an innovative solar energy technology, Evergreen Solar emerged in the last three years as the third-largest maker of solar panels in the United States.
But now the company is closing its main American factory, laying off the 800 workers by the end of March and shifting production to a joint venture with a Chinese company in central China. Evergreen cited the much higher government support available in China. "

That's an imperial pint, or 20 ounces. The EU can take much from us, but they will have to pry our pint glasses from our cold, dead hands.

(Why? Because half a liter is LESS than an imperial pint. Duh.)

    Or one kilogram.

The metric system is based on water. Temperature, weight, volume, etc...

It also works on a base-10 sytem, which is easier.

Someone might want to ask Governor Perry about the latest big Texas wind project down in Penascal.

Japanese turbines laid out by a company based in Spain and paid for with federal stimulus money.

    Yeehaw, etc.
