    True story.

Years ago, someone I know was in a car with Whitlock.

Making conversation at a stoplight, this person told Whitlock they were colorblind. Thus, their cue wasn't the color of the light but rather the activated light's position.

After a pause, a sincere Whitlock asked: "So ... do you know I'm Black?"

    Need more context.

To me that sounds like tongue in cheek.

    Not everything is a thing.

Hat Man seems to like Whitlock (third from bottom in this article). He compares him to Thomas Sowell. I have no idea why people consider Sowell an intellectual, given that he's a high school dropout.

Judging intellect by how far someone goes in school is as wise as quitting a hotel gig hours into Day 1 because bossman is mean.

Perhaps the B.A. from Harvard and the Ph.D from the University of Chicago the high-school dropout later earned have something to do with it.

Quite true, but enough about Whitlock.

It was because the bossman was a shitty boss. People make mistakes on their first day. Any boss who doesn't know that has no business being the boss.

But is Sowell really an intellectual?
