The ever shrinking paper

    Always, always consider taking the Classified section and prepare to be flexible.



    I have never understood running a 3-column or full page "house ad" when space is so fucking precious and they waste it on a smiling cartoon character with a megaphone screaming "Buy here!"

    Huh? Nobody's paying for a house ad, unless you do some accounting gymnastics and assert that the paper is moving funds from the left pocket to the right pocket to make the cashflow look greater in the books. House ads serve a purpose, to be sure. But eating up more of my newshole is not one of them.

    Sigh... I thought we were talking about an ad for a house - real estate. Damn I'm slow sometimes. I need more sleep.
