Well, one can go only so far in their disdain.

Come on. Whatever you think about Madden, that's funny.

No, it's not. And I doubt the Kopechnes, if they were still alive, would think so either.

But Madden, as the Brittanie Cecil interlude demonstrates, simply looks at tragic accidental death as fodder for his har-de-har-har machine.

I wonder if he would say the 99 or so victims of the Hillsborough Stadium disaster deserved to die too?

    Asshat.

Only if it brings in more revenue. Are there advertisers who want their names around that?

Saved as proof of why Madden has lasted this long. Speaks volumes about his target audience.

Madden will continue on until public scrutiny forces the radio station to make a move, but make no mistake, they want him on air. Madden had his chance filling in for ESPN radio national spots a few years back on Sunday mornings, and even on Mike and Mike in a few instances, but the national network dumped him as their flavor of the month, and the Pittsburgh radio listeners are stuck with him. Personally, I think XM should use him as an ad promo as a reason to get their service.

That being said -- I am glad he wasn't fired or disciplined harshly -- I just think the station general manager's comments nailed it perfectly (imagine that a common sense approach to these things rather than a knee-jerk reaction.....) when he said "it was just a dumb thing to say."

In other words, lighten up Francis.

Would you folks get off of Mark Madden's back?

Talking trash is part of his job!

Oops, wait a minute. It might not be the same Mark Madden. Carry on.

I'll admit I had to google Mark Madden 'cause I had no clue who you were talking about.
