Why does there have to be a great (Cowher level) coach waiting to replace Reid if he goes? Since when is the Eagles job one of the two or three best in the league? And this team looks a couple of years away at best. Coughlin was 10 games under .500 his last three years with the Jags, sits out a year and is hired by the Giants (a better gig than Philadelphia).

Sure, Reid took the Eagles to four consecutive NFC Championship games, but they only won one of them. He should at least have two, if not, three Super Bowl appearances with the players he had. Plus, a ring.

    Oh, please.

Donovan went 41-17 the four years before the Super Bowl season and took the Eagles to at least the conference semis for five straight years.

The Eagles won a lot of games with T.O. and a lot of games without him. They reached the Super Bowl without him, beating the Vikings and Falcons in the 2004 postseason with Freddie Mitchell and Todd Pinkston starting.

Donovan is 78-42-1 in his career. Of the quarterbacks with more wins, only Tom Brady (.784), Roger Staubach (.746), Terry Bradshaw (.677), Ken Stabler (.661), Steve Young (.657), Peyton Manning (.653) and Johnny Unitas (.651) have higher winning percentages.

He's struggling right now. But he's been a great QB with and without Terrell Owens.

Oh, and the Eagles don't have captains. They have rotating game-day captains.

Yet another who has no idea the accomplishment of an NFC Championship win as part of a string of four title games in a row.

    Great accomplishment.

Of course, these same rubes don't think much of the Bills winning four straight AFC titles.

The Eagles is a plum spot for any NFL coach . The team is a cash cow and if you win, you'll be treated royally. If you screw up the Reid has done and been as arrogant, then you will get what Reid is getting now.
As for Smallwood's piece, it probably was long overdue. The column should've been written last year but everyone treated Andy with kid gloves because of his son's legal problem. The gloves are off now and Andy may be in a fight to save his job.

Reid took a team to the brink of the NFC title game with Torrance Small and Charles Johnson catching passes and Darnell Autry running the ball. That first playoff team was worse than average. And they've been a legit contender ever since.

LJB, it's Reid's stubbornness to change that has led to a backlash by many Eagle diehards. His arrogance is almost unbelievable for someone who has never won a Super Bowl.

An arrogant football coach? Perish the thought! The Greek chorus in Philly is not the easiest to please, as you know. Wait until they go 5-11 -- and the Eagles will be seeing a lot of the wrong side of .500 in the near future -- and dump his fat ass then.

Yes but his arrogance pisses people off in a wrong way.

I certainly hope so. Be nice to see tickets on Stubhub certainly near face value. Being a Pitt fan has spoiled me when it comes to cheap tickets.

No chance. Whenever she comes by my house, she always brings Heineken and wears a Packers jersey.
